| I was the first dog adopted from the Lucy McKenzie Humane Society in Woodstock, VT. | ||
| The first day we met, the female and the male came so that I could look at them. I was tired, and well, just did not care that much, after all, my two sisters had just been taken away!
The female, smaller, and skinnier, seemed to really like me, but the fat, hersute, one was not so impressed. As that sailor used to say "I am what I am." Besides, I was tired and they did not bring me any treats!
They had to fill out some paper work, after all, I can't just go home with anyone! I may be a dog, but I am not desperate. |
||
| After a few days, and determining that the humans were not psycho or cruel (or at least had not record), "OK" was the word, they had been accepted. I could go home with them. The ride to their home was long and I was nervous, and shook the whole time. |
||
| When we finally arrived, I was relieved. Still even though it had been several days, they had not yet purchased a crate for me! For some reason the male (who has had way too much kibble, if you know what I mean) thought I would sleep in a box next to him. Wrong! The first time he got up in the night to pee (they pee indoors!) I took his place on the floor! We must train our humans early and often! |
